Beat of the street est le troisième album publié sous ce nom et ne donne aucun hit. Le groupe quitte juste après Island Records pour CBS, car Island ne distribuait pas les singles aux States.

Beat of the Street ne sonne pas très anglais, il faut bien avouer. Il a cette indolence des premières années de la décennie. Néanmoins, il s'écoute facilement. 

Beat of the street, n'est pas vraiment un trésor, mais plutôt  une porte d'entrée à une discographie, celle des frères Sutherland, qu'il serait franchement dommage d'oublier. (Disquesobscurs)
