"What We Did on Our Holidays" montre la progression du groupe vers le Folk Rock pour laquelle ils sont devenus réputés, incluant des morceaux qui deviendront plus tard des chansons très demandées comme "Fotheringay" et le titre traditionnellement utilisé pour fermer des concerts live, "Meet on the Ledge" écrit par Richard Thompson qui est devenu leur deuxième single et finalement leur hymne officieux.
