Premier disque en solo du meilleur guitariste du mouvement. Hillage avait des idées novatrices sur à peu près tout : de l'harmonisation complexe en multi-couches à une spatialisation de son jeu (avec un effet d'écho caractéristique) en passant par une production moderne. Sophistiqué mais très accessible, Fish Rising est le pinacle d'une musique cosmique qui aura une belle descendance.
