"In Camera" vient clore la trilogie que Peter Hammill avait entamée avec "Chameleon In The Shadow Of The Night". Trilogie rondement menée puisque ces trois albums sortent en l'espace de deux ans. Peter Hammill va ensuite se tourner vers d'autres horizons sonores, abandonnant les influences progressives dont il émaillait jusqu'alors ses disques, pour se concentrer momentanément sur un son plus direct.
